🎥 Enable AVA OS on AVA Home Remote
Outcome
AVA Home Remote runs Flows and presents same user interface as the Cinema Remote (minus the Dynamic Keypad, of course).
Quick Steps
Outcome
The AVA app main screen (launcher) now hides any standard Android icons. Instead, it displays Flows as configured in AVA OS.
You can disable AVA OS again from the Settings menu in AVA OS.
Background
Why Doesn’t Home Remote activate AVA OS Automatically?
AVA does not automatically enable AVA OS on the AVA Home Remote. This is to avoid surprising your clients with a sudden, unexpected change to their remote’s user interface.
The user experience of AVA OS is very different from that which the AVA launcher for Home Remote has classically presented. For example, icons for Android apps do not show in the end-user interface for AVA OS unless you configure them to show.
AVA Home Remote and Infrared Control
As a reminder, the infrared emitter on the AVA Home Remote is located on its device’s edge above the screen. This emitter is not as powerful as what is equipped on the AVA Cinema Remote, so it may need to be pointed directly at the IR sensor of a device.
My demo AVA Home remote doesn't have AVA automation system in the settings, everything looks upto date so am I missing something?
Hey, Corey: I see that my article is missing a key piece of information: This becomes available as soon as Cinema Remote is released for shipping, so it's not possible, yet. Thanks for calling my attention to it. I will update! Â --Ted
