Opening

Any Android app that can be installed on an AVA remote can be launched with a Flow icon.

Introduction

Remember AVA’s guidance: it’s rare that your client will need apps on their remote.

But for something like a Doorbird or Nest thermostat, the native app is the right thing.

Create a Flow for the App

To add an app to a Room, go to Settings.

Go to the Room where you want the Flow, such as Kitchen here.

Add a Flow.

Use the Icon is pressed option for apps.

For most apps, use a “Flow without state,” since there are no devices to turn on and track.

Add a step…

…to launch an App…

…and pick the app to launch.

If the app you want to launch is not already installed, the Install Apps button can take you to the Play Store to install.

Once you select the app, the Flow is just that one step.

So tap Next.

Now assign an icon…

…and tap Done.

Summary

Now you have a Flow that launches an app.
