Dish TV Hopper does not Control from Nano Brain IR Blaster
Symptom
Using the Hopper IR driver from a Nano Brain does not control the Dish Hopper.
Other IR devices work from the Nano Brain’s blaster.
Quick Steps
Use an AVA Flat IR Emitter (AVA-CO-IRF-UCEM) for controlling the Dish Hopper.
Background
The Dish Hopper’s IR receiver operates at a higher carrier frequency than most standard consumer IR devices. Because of this, the built-in IR blaster in first-generation AVA Nano Brains cannot reliably control the Hopper.
This limitation does not affect the AVA Flat IR Emitter or the emitters in AVA Cinema Remote and AVA Home Remote. It is a hardware limitation specific to the first-generation Nano Brain.
