Nano Brain Does Not List Flat Emitter or IR Adapter

Symptom

  • When adding a Flat Emitter or IR Adapter in Devices, the Nano Brain doesn’t list any emitters.
  • When using “Change Emitter” on an IR-controlled Device, the Nano Brain doesn’t list any emitters.
  • After connecting a Flat IR Emitter or IR Adapter to a Nano Brain, remotes and companion apps sometimes disconnect and show a “Project Offline” message.

Cause

Some of the AVA Flat Emitters (AVA-CO-IRF-UCEM) and AVA IR Adapters (AVA-CO-IRF-UCJA) that shipped from AVA after November 25, 2025 have a USB 3.0 negotiation issue with the AVA Nano Brain.

The issue leads to the Brain not recognizing the Flat Emitter when connected, and sometimes to the project becoming unavailable for remotes and the AVA companion app.

Quick Fix

Use an AVA Splitter Cable (AVA-CA-UCM2UCF) between the Nano Brain and the Emitter device. This shields the Nano Brain from the misbehaving Emitter device. The emitter then functions correctly.

AVA is providing splitters at no charge to affected AVA dealers.

Contact AVA Support:

AVA is also shipping Splitters with affected Flat Emitters and IR Adapters until we have resolved the issue.

If you have one of the affected IR products, disconnect it from the AVA Nano Brain until you have an AVA Splitter Cable to use. This ensures all other devices and services running on the Nano Brain continue to function.
