Device Driver Requests

AVA OS has multiple ways it can control devices. Control depends on the methods that the manufacturer provides.

This page explains how to request or work with device drivers in AVA OS.

If you don’t see your device listed, start by identifying which control method it uses below.

Infrared (IR) Drivers

IR is generally the fastest path to supporting new devices.

Submit from the AVA IR Driver Request Form

An AVA Pro login is required.

AVA creates IR drivers typically within a week, if documented codes are available.

IP Drivers

IP-controlled devices require deeper integration and are developed based on dealer demand.

To request an IP driver, start by searching for you device on the Idea Voting board.

Add your device as a new Idea if you cannot find it.

AVA prioritizes development based on number of votes, whether the device has a supported API, and availability of hardware for development. (We thank our many industry partners for the long-term use of their gear.) .

RS232 (Serial) Devices

AVA supports RS232 control through the CYP CR-IPS1 and CR-IPS4 IP-to-Serial Controller modules, available in the AVA store.

See the Setup Guide for CYP CR-IPS1 and CR-IPS4 IP to Serial Controller modules to learn how.
